Chelsea Striker Ike Ugbo Eyes Place In England Euro Under 17 Squad
Anglo - Nigerian striker Ike Ugbo reckons that his brace against Romania in a European Championship qualification fixture will convince manager John Peacock to include him on his roster for the tournament in Bulgaria.<br /><br />Two days ago, the Chelsea youth - teamer netted the match - winner in the 53rd minute after Adrian Petre had equalized for the Romanian Under 17s. <br /><br />“After the first game I felt I had to prove myself to John and show why I should be in the team,” Ugbo said to TheFA.com.<br /><br />“I wanted to get two so that I’d have two in two games, and thankfully I did – that’s three in five games I’ve got this season.<br /><br />“For my first one I pressed the defender hard, and he panicked allowing me to take the ball, then I just had to slot it in.<br /><br />“Marcus Edwards did well for my second, going down the left before pulling it back for me to put it in with just one touch.” <br /><br />Defending European champions at Under 17 level, England, are unbeaten in their last 6 games .<br /><br />Photo Credit : thefa.com<br />
