Through their official website, Nottingham Forest confirmed on Wednesday morning that Santo has been appointed as the first team head coach, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal until the end of end of the 2025-2026 season.
The Portuguese football tactician replaces Steve Cooper who was dismissed on Tuesday following a poor run of results.
Nuno Espirito Santo has joined Nottingham Forest as a free agent after he was relieved of his duties as coach of Saudi Arabian Pro League club Al Ittihad a few weeks ago.
Yesterday, Santo and his representative arrived in England to finalize the final details of his contract with the two-time European champions.
The 49-year-old will be coaching Super Eagles duo Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina at Nottingham Forest, and will be in the dugout on Saturday when Nottingham Forest face Bournemouth at The City Ground.
Santo will take charge of his first training session as Nottingham Forest manager on Wednesday morning.
Nottingham Forest are currently seventeenth in the Premier League table with fourteen points, five points above the relegation zone.
