Two Nigerian players Emmanuel Osho and Miles Obodo have discovered their fate after Reading released their retained and released list for the U21 side following the conclusion of the 2025–2026 season.
The Royals confirmed that they are in talks with Osho over extending his stay in RG2.
Emmanuel is the younger brother of Reading academy graduate and Super Eagles central defender Gabriel Osho, who is now cap-tied to Nigeria after his competitive debut in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Republic of Benin in November 2024.
One year into his scholarship deal, Osho signed his first professional contract with Reading in July 2024, keeping him at the club until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has been earmarked as a potential first-team player, having earned twelve call-ups for competitive matches involving the senior side.
He has already made his debut in League One, the EFL Trophy, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, registering eight appearances across the competitions.
The versatile fullback was nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for January 2026.
Reading confirmed Obodo will be released upon the expiry of his contract on June 30, 2026.
The 19-year-old striker spent a portion of the season on loan at non-league club Chichester City.
