Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell provided a positive injury update on Ryan Alebiosu before his side's League One clash against Portsmouth at Mornflake Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Arsenal loanee suffered a back spasm during the defeat to Wigan Athletic on Tuesday, leading to his substitution midway through the first half.
Artell was optimistic on the chances of the right fullback making the matchday squad against Pompey.
"Ryan had a back spasm and they can be uncomfortable and they can stiffen up very quickly," Artell said to the official website of Crewe Alexandra.
"He landed awkwardly and was unable to continue but with those types of muscle problems they tend to ease off quite quickly.
"His back is getting better and hopefully he has a chance of being involved at the weekend."
Since joining Crewe Alexandra on loan in the January transfer window, Alebiosu has started four of the five matches contested by the club in the third-tier.
