Danish Superliga club Randers make transfer decision on Precious John after trial

Danish Superliga club Randers have made a transfer decision on young Nigerian defender Precious P. John following the conclusion of his trial.

According to Bold,  John will not initially be offered a contract but Randers will continue monitoring his progress.

The decision was taken after Randers' coaching staff assessed the 2007-born right-back in a reserve match against FC Fredericia on March 4.

"He is not being offered a contract, but we are following him," Randers' football director Søren Pedersen told bold.dk.

Randers invited John for further assessment after the club's scouts spotted him during a scouting trip to Nigeria.

This resulted in the young defender going on trial with Randers, but now his time is up, and without a contract for the time being.

Randers have enjoyed a notable connection with Nigerian players over the years, with Super Eagles forward Stephen Odey, former Nigeria U23 invitee and Manchester United academy product Tosin Kehinde, ex-Super Eagles invitee Vincent Onovo, Mustapha Isah and Marvin Egho among those to have worn the club's colours.

Randers thrashed FC Fredericia 3-0 in their most recent game in the Danish top-flight, with Mathias Greve, Warren Caddy and Elies Mahmoud getting on the scoresheet.
