Dickson Etuhu : People Expected That I Would Be Like Ronaldinho

Dickson Etuhu arrived AIK Stockholm from Blackburn Rovers on a free transfer in the winter transfer market.

The central midfielder struggled for form at the start of his career with AIK but has picked up in the second half of the season, and impressed in his side’s 2 - 1 win against BK Hacken on Saturday, though he was sent off in the 70th minute after netting in the first half.

“People expected that I would come here and be like Ronaldinho and making three goals in each match,” Etuhu told Fotbollskanalen.se.

“I had been injured for two years and it takes time to get well and get into a new league, a new system with new teammates.

“But people are quick to judge. I remember those who did not support me at first and I will never talk to them. It’s that simple.”

The former Fulham and Manchester City man has taken a dig at everyone that wrote him off when he first arrived in Sweden.

“In England it had never happened. Where people understand that if a player has been injured and comes to a new club it takes time to get into it. But I like the press, it is good for me,” adds Etuhu.

Dickson Etuhu has contractual obligations with AIK until the end of next season.
