Done Deal: Arsenal Break African Transfer Record After Signing Gabon Goal Machine
Arsenal have completed the capture of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from German giants, Borussia Dortmund, smashing their transfer record in the process for a fee £56 million.
The 28-year old would thus, team up with Arsene Wenger's side, having completed a medical earlier today while equally agreeing personal terms with the club with his wages set to be worth £180,000-a-week.
The deal would trigger many other moves as Michy Batshuayi is expected to move in the opposite direction on a loan deal while Oliver Giroud could be cleared to join Chelsea in a reported £20 million deal.
The Gabon international who has been consistently linked with Arsenal for most part of the window would reunite with ex-Dortmund colleague, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and could make his debut against Everton on Saturday.
He becomes Arsenal's third recruit of the transfer window following the acquisitions of Konstantinos Mavropanos and Mkhitaryan.
Aubameyang has become the most expensive African transferred within Europe and the second most expensive African player in history behind Cédric Bakambu, who joined Chinese club Beijing Guoan for £65 million including tax obligations.
