Through official channels, Cyprus' most successful club APOEL FC have announced the signing of Nigeria international Peter Olayinka on undisclosed terms.
Olayinka joins the 29-time Cypriot First Division champions as a free agent, having mutually terminated his contract with Red Star Belgrade last October.
APOEL have secured the services of a versatile forward with extensive experience on the European stage.
The former Red Star Belgrade and Slavia Prague star has made a total of 81 appearances across UEFA competitions, featuring 14 times in the Champions League, 31 in the Europa League and 16 in the Conference League, in addition to 20 outings in the qualifying rounds of those tournaments.
Olayinka famously scored on his Champions League debut in September 2019, helping Slavia Prague secure a 1-1 draw against Inter Milan.
Beyond Red Star and Slavia Prague, the Super Eagles forward has also represented Bylis, Skënderbeu, KAA Gent, Dukla Prague and Zulte Waregem during his career.
The 30-year-old has earned four caps for Nigeria and was part of the squad at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, where he made substitute appearances against Guinea-Bissau and Tunisia.
Retired Nigerian forwards Michael Obiku, Patrick Ogunsoto and Benjamin Onwuachi previously represented APOEL during their respective playing careers.
