Nigeria U23 international Godswill Ekpolo has confirmed his departure from Barcelona, eleven years after his arrival at the Spanish club. <br /><br />In an emotional message to the Barca faithful and his teammates, the wing-back admitted that it was a privilege to play for the club but regretted that he wasn&rsquo;t able to make his first team debut.<br /><br />The 21-year-old enjoyed relative success with the youth team, helping the U19s win the UEFA Youth League two years ago .<br /><br />Part of the message posted on social media read : &ldquo;I know that I have been blessed to be part of a Club like Barca. There have been good times and bad times. <br /><br />&ldquo;I have cried and laugh with you. I have lost and celebrated with you. But no matter the situation, my passion has been clear - playing and winning.&rdquo;<br /><br />Ekpolo added : &ldquo;Obviously, I won&rsquo;t be able to do that next season but I hope that the supporters and my teammates will be able to enjoy many joyful moments.<br /><br />&ldquo;They deserve the best of times and it would give me so much pleasure to see Barca B back where they belong. <br /><br />&ldquo;For 11 years I gave my life to this team, jumping at every opportunity in hope that one day, just maybe one day, I&rsquo;d get a chance at the first team.&rdquo;<br /><br />Godswill Ekpolo&rsquo;s contract with Barcelona will expire on June 30th .<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br />Photo Credit : fcbarcelona.com<br />
