Cyriel Dessers is proving his worth to Feyenoord following his loan move from Racing Genk on transfer deadline day.
By scoring in the 92nd minute in the crazy game against NEC Nijmegen on Saturday night, it took his goal involvement to three (2 goals, 1 assist) in three appearances as a substitute in the Dutch Eredvisie.
The Racing Genk loanee was delighted to find the back of the net for the first time at Feyenoord's home ground, 'De Kuip' as they came from behind to beat NEC Nijmegen 5-3.
"I grabbed my moment and definitely enjoyed it. 'How did I do it? It went completely on automatic pilot, but scoring in De Kuip gives a good feeling," Dessers told ESPN post-match.
On Feyenoord digging deep to secure three points, he remarked: "I enjoyed our game for the first half hour, but then we fell away. It eventually even resulted in a 2-3 deficit that allowed Feyenoord to go to the extreme.
"It's not good that we conceded three goals, but we have come back to character."
Belgian-born Dessers hasn't featured in any of the last nine matches played by the Super Eagles since making his international debut against Tunisia in October 2020.
