The English Football Association have confirmed the England U16 squad for their February international fixtures, with the roster featuring several players eligible to represent Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Eight players of Nigerian heritage have been selected by manager Barry Lewtas, with the list headlined by Emerson Nwaneri, the younger brother of Nigeria Football Federation target Ethan Nwaneri.
Joining Emerson on the roster are fellow Arsenal starlet Mishel Nduka, Liverpool trio Shadrach Ekiugbo, Joshua Abe and Vincent Joseph, West Ham defender Emmanuel Fejokwu, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oluwatitojumi Wellspring and Manchester City's David Eze.
The Young Lions will be heading to Turkiye this month, where they will play three friendly matches at the Emirhan Sport Complex in Manavgat, Antalya.
England U16s face Denmark on February 21, then Spain on February 23, and wrap up the camp with a fixture against France on February 26.
Nduka and Emerson are regarded as bright prospects at Arsenal, with the two talented midfielders making their debuts in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2 and UEFA Youth League in their final season as schoolboys.
Nigeria internationals past and present Ola Aina, Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses represented England U16s before switching their international allegiance to the Super Eagles.
