Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has defended Brazil international Fred after his error gifted Leicester City the opening goal in the quarterfinal of the Emirates FA Cup on Sunday evening.
Fred's terrible back-pass to goalkeeper Dean Henderson gifted Kelechi Iheanacho an easy finish in the 24th minute.
Unaware that the Foxes striker was lurking, he passed the ball back to Henderson, only for it to be intercepted by the Nigerian.
"We want them to build from the back. We've been really solid, we've been really good, we've built a foundation to play from with what we've done," Solskjaer told MUTV (via Manchester Evening News).
"Sometimes it goes wrong and that's acceptable. Everyone can make a mistake and we win together and lose together, as a team."
Twelve
minutes from time, Iheanacho scored his second of the game as he ghosted in unmarked at the far post and
was allowed to head home after an excellent delivery from Marc
Albrighton.
The 24-year-old is expected to report for international duty in the coming days before the national team's Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against the Republic of Benin and Lesotho.
