Super Eagles fullback Ryan Alebiosu has expressed confidence that Blackburn Rovers can reverse their recent struggles following his return to the squad after representing Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Alebiosu, who was named in Nigeria’s final squad in December 2025, made his Super Eagles debut in a 3-1 win over Uganda in the final group-stage match.
Ahead of the clash with Watford, Alebiosu said the players are determined to put an end to their poor run of results.
He also noted that the return of teammates from injury and suspension has lifted morale within the camp.
“Everyone’s eager and everyone is coming back, so we’re looking forward to these next three home games,” Alebiosu told Rovers TV.
The former Arsenal defender admitted that the team is desperate for a first win to spark a run of positive result at the Ewood Park.
“We’re all trying to be as ready as we can. That first win is something the group needs and I’m sure we will kick on and go from there."
According to the Nigeria international, victories at home could play a major role in rebuilding confidence and strengthening team spirit.
“Wins will bring everyone together and I think these next three games all being at home is only something that’s going to benefit us."
Despite acknowledging the challenges facing the team, the defender remained confident that strong relationships within the dressing room will help Blackburn navigate the tough spell.
“I hope we can use that to our advantage and build things from here on in," he said.
“It’s a tough time right now, but having that bond will all get us through it, especially with the connections we have amongst the lads.”
The Super Eagles defender missed eight matches across all competitions while on international duty with Nigeria in Morocco.
Now back with Rovers, Alebiosu will be eager to help the team rediscover winning form as they battle to avoid relegation to League One.
Blackburn, who are winless in their last six Championship matches with three draws and three defeats, will be hoping to turn things around by securing positive results in their next three home fixtures against Watford, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday.
