Ex-Nigeria Manager Recognized As The Second Best Coach In The World - IFFHS
Former Super Eagles coach Lars Lagerbäck has been named the second best National Team coach in the world by the statisticians at International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS).<br /><br />The Swede ranked second in the list, behind head coach of Portugal Fernando Santos, who with the team won the 2016 European Championship.<br /><br />Lagerbäck garnered 71 points while Santos accumulated 199 points and Joachim Löw with 62 points came third.<br /><br />In a deal brokered by Lukman Haruna’s agent, Greg Keenan, the 68-year-old coached Nigeria for seven games, including the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, had an unbeaten percentage of 71.43% and a win percentage of 28.57%.<br /><br />Lagerbäck was joint manager of the Icelandic squad at Euro 2016.<br /><br /><u><b>Ranking 2016</b></u><br /><br />1 – Fernando Santos (Portugal)- 199 points<br />2 – Lars Lagerbeck (Sweden / coach Iceland)-71 points<br />3 – Joachim Löw (Germany)- 62 points<br />4 – Chris Coleman (Wales)- 61 points<br />5 – Didier Deshamps (France)-52 points<br />6 – Antonio Conte (Italy)-17 points<br />7 – Ante Cacic (Croatia)-8 points<br />8 – Marc Wilmots (Belgium)-3 points<br />8 – Tite (Brasil) - 3 points <br />10- Bernd Storck (Hungary) - 1 point<br />10- Ange Postecoglu (Australia)- 1 point<br />10- Adam Nawalka (Poland)- 1 point<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br />
