Liverpool will start running the rule over ex-FC Porto youth-teamer Jacob Njoku next month with a view to a transfer in the summer transfer market, according to the player<span class="body1">&rsquo;s intermediary.<br /><br />The Reds have been tracking the progress of the 18-year-old for close to a year but could not bring him to Anfield because he still had a contract with Al Oruba in the United Arab Emirates and they wanted to acquire him without paying a transfer fee. <br /></span><br />Njoku<span class="body1">&rsquo;s deal with Al Oruba will run out in the summer, which has paved the way for Liverpool to hand him a trial.<br /><br /></span><span>&ldquo;Jacob Njoku will travel to the United Kingdom next month along with Chidera Ejike for trials with Liverpool,</span><span>&rdquo; Njoku</span><span class="body1">&rsquo;s agent Babawo Mohammed told <b>allnigeriasoccer.com</b>.<br /><br /></span><span>&ldquo;He is with Al Orooba and his contract will expire next month, so he is traveling after his contract expires.</span><span>&rdquo;<br /><br />An offensive all-rounder, Njoku does not qualify for a work permit in the United Kingdom and will be farmed out on loan to another European team if he impresses Liverpool suits during tests.<br /><br />He has represented Nigeria at Under 13 and Under 15 level and could have made the Golden Eaglets squad for the 2013 Fifa Under-17 World Cup if not for injury.<br /><b><br />Ifeanyi Emmanuel</b><br /></span>
