<b>Allnigeriasoccer.com</b> has been informed that Portuguese Primeira Liga team Sporting Clube de Braga attempted to sign Stanley Awurum before his recent transfer to Portimonense S.C.<br /><br />The 25-year-old Awurum displayed his wares for Varzim last season, scoring 14 goals in 42 matches to finish as the third highest goalscorer in the Segunda Liga.<br /><br />Sporting Braga had held talks with the attacker and his camp regarding the possibility of moving to the Est&aacute;dio Municipal de Braga, but the proposed deal hit a brick wall when they could not match the offer from Portimonense.<br /><br />He has penned a one-year deal with Portimonense S.C, with the club having the option to extend his contract for three more seasons next summer.<br /><br />In the 2015 winter transfer market, Awurum joined Varzim from Mozambican side Chibuto,where he was a household name.<br /><br />Ifeanyi Emmanuel <br /><br />Photo Credit : varzim.pt<br /><br />
