Ademola Lookman has been left out of Atalanta’s squad for the trip to Como as transfer negotiations involving the Nigerian forward continue in the final days of the winter transfer window.

The decision to omit Lookman was taken by Atalanta head coach Raffaele Palladino, with the player left out amid growing uncertainty over his immediate future.

Lookman has emerged as one of the most discussed names of the window, attracting interest from multiple clubs seeking to secure his services before the deadline.

Fenerbahçe have been strongly linked with the attacker and submitted an official offer to Atalanta.

However, discussions between the Italian and Turkish club stalled in the last few hours.

Negotiations reportedly broke down due to disagreements over payment terms and the provision of bank guarantees, bringing the talks to a halt.

While the move to Turkey failed to progress, Atletico Madrid have intensified their pursuit of Lookman, according to Sky Sport Italia. 

An agreement has already been reached between Atalanta and the Spanish club for a potential transfer abroad.

The remaining issue involves personal terms, with the player’s representatives yet to finalize a financial agreement with Atletico Madrid.

Lookman’s current situation mirrors developments from last summer, when he was close to completing a move to Inter Milan before that deal collapsed.

With Fenerbahçe no longer advancing negotiations and Atletico Madrid pushing forward, Lookman’s future remains unresolved as the transfer window nears its conclusion.
