Nigerian forward Peter Otele has been linked with a move away from Swiss side FC Basel ahead of the close of the winter transfer window.
The 26-year-old has been one of Basel's standout performers this season, registering eight goals and three assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.
His impressive performances saw him named in the Super Eagles' 54-man provisional squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
However, he was eventually omitted from the final 28-man squad, which has since seen Nigeria advance to the third-place playoff, where they will face Egypt for the bronze medal on Saturday.
Otele's fine form also has attracted attention from clubs in England, Scotland and Italy.
According to English transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, Championship side Birmingham City, Premier League outfits Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers are closely monitoring the winger's situation.
Additionally, Scottish giants Celtic and Serie A club Lazio are also said to have placed the Nigerian on their shortlist as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the window closes.
Although Otele is valued at around €5 million on Transfermarkt, Basel were initially hoping to command a higher fee for his services.
However, with about two weeks already gone in the winter window, the Swiss club are understood to have softened their stance and are now willing to let the winger leave for a fee in excess of €7 million.
A potential move to either Birmingham City or Wolves would see Otele link up with Super Eagles stars Bright Osayi-Samuel and Tolu Arokodare.
