George Abbey Believes There Is More To Come From Home - Based Super Eagles
Retired Nigeria international George Abbey believes there is more to come from the home - based Super Eagles after they qualified for the 2016 African Nations Championship.<br /><br />The national team’s participation at the tournament in Rwanda was assured after they held hosts Burkina Faso to a goalless draw in Ouagadougou on Sunday evening.<br /><br />“Well done to @NGSuperEagles on qualification to Rwanda 2016. I trust the boys to put on a good show next year #UpEagles, ” the ex Super Eagles full - back tweeted on Monday morning.<br /><br />Now 37, George Abbey wore the jerseys of Port Vale, Crewe Alexandra , Macclesfield Town and Akritas Chlorakas before hanging up his boots.<br /><br />He represented Nigeria at the 2004 African Nations Cup after he was recommended to the national team handlers by childhood pal Joseph Yobo.<br /><br />Photo Credit : Twitter.com<br />
