Former Dundee manager Tony Docherty has praised Kelechi Iheanacho following his decisive contribution in Celtic FC's 2-1 victory over Dundee FC on Sunday evening.
Iheanacho, who has endured a challenging campaign due to fitness issues, made a significant impact after coming off the bench in the second half.
The Nigeria forward netted the winning goal with eight minutes remaining, clinically finishing off a well-delivered cross from Marcelo Saracchi.
His composed strike ensured Celtic secured all three points, keeping their Scottish Premiership title defence firmly on track.
Earlier in the encounter, Yang Hyun-Jun had given Celtic the lead in the first half, before Simon Murray restored parity for the hosts from the penalty spot in the 57th minute.
However, Iheanacho's late intervention ultimately proved decisive in a tightly contested fixture at the Dens Park.
Speaking on BBC Scotland, Docherty commended Celtic's resurgence in the latter stages of the match and singled out Iheanacho's finish for praise
"Celtic have started to do what they were doing in the first half," Docherty said. "It's a great finish from Iheanacho."
Iheanacho will be pleased to have returned to the scoresheet after a challenging spell disrupted by injuries.
The 29-year-old, who made an encouraging start to life at Celtic FC, had last scored in the league during the 3-2 victory over Motherwell FC in October.
His latest effort takes his tally to three goals in seven league appearances, as he continues working his way back to full fitness.
With the campaign entering its decisive phase, Iheanacho will be eager to maintain his fitness and build on this momentum as Celtic continue their push to retain the Scottish Premiership title.
