Chelsea monitored proceedings at the Merkur Spiel-Arena (Düsseldorf) as Inter Milan beat German opponents Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 to reach the last four of the 2019-2020 Europa League on Monday night.
The Blues were keeping tabs on former Nigeria international Victor Moses who was loaned out to Inter Milan for the second half of the season, with a purchase clause inserted into the deal.
In a review of players on loan published on their official website, Chelsea noted that Moses had an admirable performance and came close to scoring after coming off the bench.
"Victor Moses’s season on loan at Inter will continue into the final week of 2019/20 after the Italians booked their place in the Europa League semi-finals," Chelsea wrote.
"Moses started on the bench for the fourth game in a row but had a lively impact after being introduced for the final half-hour, almost finishing off the contest with a third Inter goal but being denied by a smart piece of goalkeeping."
Moses's eight-year affiliation with Chelsea appears to be coming to an end, given that he has been loaned out to Fenerbahce and Inter Milan in the last one and a half years and his contract expires in June 2021.
The 29-year-old, who won the Europa League with Chelsea in 2013, has made 128 appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit, scoring 18 goals.
