Celtic head coach Martin O'Neill has praised Kelechi Iheanacho for his professionalism, team spirit, and unwavering support for his teammates ahead of their clash against St. Mirren.
Iheanacho, who joined Celtic last summer, has endured an injury-disrupted spell despite making a bright start to life in Scotland.
Nonetheless, the Nigerian international has maintained his sharpness in front of goal, recently netting the winner in Celtic's 2-1 victory over Dundee FC.
Speaking at his press conference, Celtic coach Martin O'Neill expressed his delight at seeing Iheanacho back among the goals.
"The goal that he scored for us, I think that probably if it was going to fall to anybody in the penalty box," he said. "He is the one that we are delighted that it did.
The Celtic boss acknowledged the setbacks but commended Iheanacho's determination to push through and regain full fitness.
"He has had a few injuries but he has come through those and he wants to do the work," he added.
Beyond his contributions on the pitch, Iheanacho has also been recognised for his professionalism and team spirit.
Despite competition for places in the attacking line, he has remained supportive of his teammates, even when not selected to start matches.
O'Neill described the forward as vocal and encouraging from the sidelines, underlining his positive influence within the squad regardless of his role on matchday.
"He is very supportive of the forwards who are playing maybe in his place. Genuinely really supportive both when he is in the squad, if he is not on the field, he is very vocal behind me.
"He has been supportive. He has had the injuries but if he could stay fit it would be great news," he said.
With his fitness returning, Celtic will be hopeful that Iheanacho can rediscover his best form and play a key role in their bid to retain the league title.
