Kenneth Omeruo has boasted that he roughly tackled legendary Chelsea central defender John Terry during a training session during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Once the longest serving player at Chelsea on a first team contract before joining CD Leganes on a permanent deal last summer, Omeruo often trained with the Blues stars before heading out on loan.
The Nigeria international has enormous respect for John Terry and picked the former Chelsea captain as his favourite defender of all time.
Asked how he felt training with John Terry, Omeruo told Eagles Tracker : "There was a situation where I 'chopped' (tackled him to the floor) him and he was swearing at me, it was so funny later.
"I didn't care what he was saying, I wanted to play for Chelsea so I wasn't concerned but he's a great guy. He is my favourite defender of all time. "
The former Sunshine Stars player highlighted the qualities needed for a young central defender to succeed in Europe.
"If you are a young center back, you have to be aggressive because you have to stand out.
"If you have to leave the shores of Nigeria, you have to have the quality, know how to win the ball and not losing it, make sure it gets to your partner," Omeruo added.
Apart from Leganes, the 26-year-old Omeruo also enjoyed loan spells at ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor during his spell at Chelsea.
