Nigeria and Watford fans are going to be delighted by the update provided by manager Roy Hodgson ahead of the Premier League clash against Crystal Palace with the experienced coach revealing that Oghenekaro Etebo has received the medical green light to return to action.
The Nigeria international is back in full training and made his comeback from injury in Watford's latest Professional Development League clash against Ipswich Town, playing the first half at Playford Road.
A torn quad muscle injury prevented Etebo from adding to his international caps at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations but he has put himself in contention to be named in Nigeria's squad for the upcoming games versus Ghana having rejoined his Hornets teammates in training.
Hodgson told Watford's official website Monday : "[Etebo] has trained with us from the start, we've just been waiting on the go-ahead from his surgeon in Finland, and he got that last week.
"As far as I'm concerned we don't have any concerns, but he hasn't played a competitive match for many months so it is good he can get some minutes in today's game, and if he comes through okay, then we're going to be able to start counting on them."
Etebo had played seven games for Watford in all competitions prior to his spell on the sidelines.
