Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke has reaffirmed his commitment to helping Sevilla FC, insisting he is ready to contribute whenever called upon, regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench.
The Nigeria international made the declaration ahead of Sevilla’s derby clash against Real Betis, as he looks to regain form after a challenging campaign.
Despite being regarded as one of the most skillful dribblers in the squad, Ejuke has struggled for consistency this season.
The 28-year-old has made 18 league appearances, registering one goal and one assist.
His performances have also come under scrutiny from head coach Matías Almeyda, who admitted during his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Getafe CF that he remains uncertain whether to deploy the winger as a starter or use him as an impact substitute.
Responding to the concerns, Ejuke stressed that his focus remains on staying prepared and making the most of every opportunity.
"It's the same for me. I just want to be ready when the coach needs me," he said via Muchodeporte.
"I don't care if it's from the start or off the bench; I want to help the team when I have the opportunity to play."
Ejuke also spoke positively about fellow Nigerian forward Akor Adams, highlighting his key role and importance to Sevilla.
"Of course, he's our striker. Along with the other attackers, they're all important. But it's good when the strikers are feeling good, when they're scoring goals, because that can give us even more during matches," Ejuke added.
The former CSKA Moscow winger also represented Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, making two appearances as the Super Eagles secured a bronze medal.
Ejuke will now be hoping for more playing time as Sevilla prepare for a crucial derby, with the winger eager to prove his value and make a stronger impact in the closing stages of the season.
