Manager Claudio Ranieri was very pleased with the performance of Emmanuel Dennis despite his side suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Chelsea in a Premier League match at Vicarage Road on Wednesday night.
Watford were unable to build on their victory against Manchester United in their previous home game but made Chelsea work hard for a win.
Dennis was a surprise inclusion in the starting lineup after he went off injured in the second half against Leicester City at the weekend.
When the Nigeria international found the net in the 43rd minute, it meant he has had a hand in eight (4 goals, 4 assists) of the last ten goals netted by Watford in the top-flight and also won the penalty converted by Joshua King against Leicester City.
A crowd-pleaser, Dennis was a real box of tricks in the Hornets attack and the number 25 was rewarded for his efforts when he scored an excellent equaliser after brushing off a challenge from Antonio Rüdiger just before halftime.
"I am very happy with Emmanuel because straight away he wants to do something, I love these kinds of players," Ranieri said to Watford's official website post-match.
"He knows where the goal is and goes there straight away. But I think all the players put in fantastic performances."
Watford are just three points above the relegation zone after their fifth defeat in seven and have another tough game against Manchester City this coming weekend.
