Nigerian-born winger Ody Alfa has spoken of his happiness at making his senior debut for Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers in Tuesday's Carabao Cup win against Oxford United.
Prior to the visit of the U's to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in London, the Anglo-Nigerian's other first team matchday squad involvements came against Millwall, Watford and Rotherham United in the Championship but was a non-playing substitute in all the three matches.
Alfa has insisted that he didn't feel any nerves when he was brought on to replace Ilias Chair for the final fifteen minutes of the Hoops' 2-0 victory.
"I am very happy to make my debut, I have been working hard towards my goal and continue to do so," Alfa said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
"I wasn't nervous as I have prepared in training and done what I think is necessary to be able to be confident in that situation."
Alfa is targeting more first team opportunities in 2021-2022 be it at Queens Park Rangers or elsewhere.
"My targets for this season are to play more for Queens Park Rangers' first team, or to get first team game time somewhere on loan," he added.
Alfa got a taste of first team football during loan spells at Atlético Baleares, Maidenhead United and Billericay Town.
The 22-year-old has pledged his international future to Nigeria over England.
