Norwich City boss Daniel Farke was delighted with the performance of Republic of Ireland U21 international of Nigerian descent, Adam Idah as the Canaries progressed to the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup following their 4-2 victory over Preston North End on Saturday evening.
Making only his third appearances as a professional, Idah netted a brace in the first half before grabbing his hat-trick from the spot in the 61st minute.
Arguably the most exciting Irish prospect of Nigerian descent, Idah gave Norwich City a 3-0 lead with a sublime effort from 40 yards out after intercepting a misplaced pass from goalkeeper Connor Ripley in the 38th minute.
Speaking post-match, Farke stated : "It’s a good day. The win will be good for our confidence.
"Adam Idah deserves the praise for his goals and his workload. He was prepared for today and he grabbed his chance. It was a class performance.
"Our balance was good. We played some lovely football but also showed some steel."
Idah's two other senior games for the Canaries were against Crystal Palace (Premier League) and Crawley Town (League Cup) this season.
