Kelechi Iheanacho has been praised by manager Brendan Rodgers for setting up the second goal scored by Patson Daka in their come-from-behind dramatic 4-3 win over Spartak Moscow in a Europa League game on Wednesday evening.
A lot of the headlines was about Patson and his four goals but Iheanacho played a key role in the win by providing two assists.
The Nigeria international is in a rich vein of form at the moment, either scoring or assisting in his last five matches in all competitions for the Foxes, taking his goal involvement to eight for the season.
The first half was not so good for the Premier League club as Sobolev and Larsson scored to put the Muscovites 2-0 up but Daka gave Leicester City hope when he halved the deficit just before the break.
In the 48th minute, Daka got the Foxes back on level terms when he converted from close range after Iheanacho squared the ball to the arriving Zambia international.
"To score four goals in a game… the first one, he takes it really, really well and we needed that just before half-time.
“Then, in the second half, Youri [Tielemans] produced a great pass that’s set up Kels (Kelechi Iheanacho) to cross it and finish, so he’s in the right place at the right time......."
Leicester City, second in the provisional Group C standings, have two home games against Spartak Moscow and Legia Warsaw before their last group match at Napoli in December.
