Former Super Eagles striker and 1997 African Footballer of the Year winner Victor Nosa Ikpeba Friday evening shocked keen watchers of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations draws holding in Cairo, Egypt when he stated that Senegal are his preferred team to win the tournament even at the expense of teams like Nigeria.
The colourful draw ceremony had in attendance the eggheads of the game in Africa, top dignitaries in CAF and FIFA as well captains of industries and journalists.
Ikpeba spoke on SuperSport television.
"I would like Senegal to win the tournament because they have really developed and gave great players.
"Nigeria can reach the last four, that's our objectives, I am not saying we don't have the potentials. We have a good team but I am being objective," the 'Prince of Monaco' told Super sports' delectable presenter Carol Tshabalala.
"For underdogs I will tip Uganda. I think they can spring few surprises," the onetime Borussia Dortmund and AS Monaco striker revealed.
The 2019 AFCON kicks off on June 21 with 24 teams campaigning at the bi annual tournament for the first time.
