Bournemouth-owned midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh received a special message from Manchester United star Paul Pogba in the wake of Wycombe Wanderers promotion to the second tier of English football.
Another player of Nigerian descent, Adebayo Akinfenwa has stolen the limelight from all the Chairboys players after their promotion, with manager Jurgen Klopp and several Liverpool players sending him congratulatory messages.
Not wanting to be left out of the limelight, Ofoborh wanted a well done message from his favourite player of all time, Pogba.
"I see @daRealAkinfenwa getting mad replies from Liverpool players. I think this is the time to say @paulpogba Ilove you big time! my favourite player ever," Ofoborh tweeted.
The Nigeria U20 international did not get a quick response from the French World Cup winner and sent another tweet : "honestly someone must know @paulpogba and if you do, help a bro out man🥺".
Ofoborh eventually caught the attention of Pogba, who revealed that he would be keeping tabs on the progress of the young midfielder.
In a video message to Ofoborh, Pogba stated : "Hello Nnamdi, it's your boy PP. I heard about you, I just wanted to congratulate you on your promotion to the Championship.
"I heard about your long journey, in football and outside football. For sure, it's not easy, it's difficult what you did.
"I just want to wish you the best - carry on, keep it up, keep doing what you're doing man.
"I'm going to be looking after you, and looking at what you're doing until you get to the Premier League. Keep it up my G, be together, peace man."
Ofoborh, who extended his loan contract with Wycombe Wanderers to enable him feature in the League One playoffs, was on target in a 4-1 win over Fleetwood Town in the semifinals first leg.
