Manchester City academy product Kelechi Iheanacho was delighted to score his fourth career goal against Manchester United as the Foxes and Red Devils shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
On 63 minutes, Iheanacho headed in at the near post an inch perfect
delivery from James Maddison to give Brendan Rodgers's side the lead.
The Nigeria international praised Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for the part he played in the goal, noting that it was a good challenge by the number 22 to win the ball back for Leicester City before his pass to Maddison.
Though Iheanacho is still some way from the form he showed in the second half of last season, Leicester City's top scorer for 2020-2021 has directly participated in 16 goals (7 goals, 9 assists) so far this season.
"Dewsbury-Hall made a great tackle to win the ball and he gave it straight to Madders," Iheanacho said to LCFC TV.
"I was just anticipating that he was going to whip it in and I was in the right place at the right time and I got my head onto it. [As a former Man City player], it's extra pleasing, I'm happy to get a goal against them.
"I'm now a Leicester City player so I'm happy and hopefully there's more to come. It's always good to celebrate with the fans. To celebrate with them is enjoyable so I'm happy."
It could have been a brace for Iheanacho against Manchester United but his chip over the goalkeeper was over the bar in the 71st minute.
