William Troost-Ekong was one of the first players to get to the Super Eagles camp in Austria before their friendly against Cameroon.
One of the first names on manager Gernot Rohr's team-sheet, Troost-Ekong is certain to have a new defensive partner at the heart of defense against the Indomitable Lions, with Leganes' Kenneth Omeruo, West Brom's Semi Ajayi and Rangers' Leon Balogun pulling out of the friendlies on account of injuries.
Valentine Ozornwafor, Anthony Izuchukwu and Chidozie Awaziem are the players in contention to partner the Watford star.
Speaking to the Super Eagles Media team after training on Thursday, Troost-Ekong said : "It has been good, I think we've got a lot of new faces in this camp and all of us want to make sure we have a good game to finish the season.
"And it's good to see we have a great team spirit and everyone is happy to be here."
Troost-Ekong knows the Cameroonians well enough having faced the five-time African champions three times in the last four years.
The Super Eagles were unbeaten in the three matches, registering two wins and one draw; Ekong feels that the Indomitable Lions will be out for revenge in tonight's fixture.
"It's going to be a difficult game, we have played them a lot in the last couple of years and they've always been a difficult opponent, so it's going to be a team also that wants to probably get revenge against us because we knocked them out of the World Cup qualifiers and also at the AFCON we did the same thing, so it's going to be a difficult game.
"The boys are ready to have a good fight, and also to enjoy the game, and show ourselves, see what we can do and make sure we finish the season on a high," he concluded.
Nigeria have not lost to Cameroon in regulation time since they were
beaten 1-0 in a 1990 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Yaounde on 27th August
1989.
