Super Eagles and Valencia forward Sadiq Umar has expressed his delight at fellow Nigerian Ademola Lookman’s recent move to Spanish La Liga club Atlético Madrid.

When asked about Lookman’s arrival in La Liga, Sadiq told Sporty TV., “I'm glad to see him coming here to La Liga because probably this is the best league in the world and you know the best league needs the best players,” 

The forward added, “And Ademola Lookman is one of the best players right now and, you know, it's time for La Liga to know who he is and the world also will confirm who he is and I will wish him all the best and I will see him soon.”

Lookman completed his move to Atlético Madrid on deadline day, joining the Spanish giants midway through the season.

The former Africa Footballer of the Year wasted no time making an impact for his new club.

He marked his debut in the Copa del Rey by scoring a goal and providing an assist in Atlético Madrid’s 5-0 victory over Real Betis.

The move to Atlético Madrid presents Lookman with a platform to showcase his talents on a bigger stage, and with his strong start in the Copa del Rey, he has already begun to make an impression.

Atlético Madrid will face Real Betis again on Sunday, where Ademola Lookman is expected to make his La Liga debut.
