Zambia international Patson Daka has revealed the message Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers passed to him as he was about entering the King Power Stadium turf to replace Kelechi Iheanacho.
Iheanacho did not have a bad game at all but had to replaced in the 77th minute because Rodgers noticed the Super Eagles striker was getting fatigued after his fourth consecutive start for club and country in the space of thirteen days.
Daka was involved in the build-up to Leicester City's second goal, shortly after replacing Iheanacho, as Caglar Söyüncü slotted home from close range after his shot was cleared off the line.
A minute into injury time, the former Red Bull Salzburg goal poacher opened his Premier League account when he bundled the ball home at the back post to surely seal three points for the Foxes.
When asked about what Rodgers told him, Daka said to LCFC TV post-match : "He just told me to go and pick up from where Kelechi [Iheanacho] had left, because he did his very best, and he did everything that he could, so it was my time now to go and do my very best.
"He told me: 'Don’t have pressure, just do what you do’, and that’s what I went to do.
"It’s not something that will make us go crazy, because there’s still a lot of games ahead of us, and we have to concentrate on the game in Russia. There’s no time to really dwell on this victory. We have to focus on the next game."
Iheanacho has either scored or assisted in his last four matches for Leicester City in all competitions.
