Leone Stars Depart For Freetown; Super Eagles Scheduled To Fly Out On Monday

Players and officials of the Sierra Leone National Team departed for Freetown on Sunday morning following their dramatic 4-4 draw with hosts Nigeria in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match two days ago, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Leone Stars flew to Freetown aboard an Asky Airlines flight for direct linkage to Sierra Leone ahead of the reverse fixture against the Super Eagles on Tuesday, November 17.

As it's the norm under the leadership of Amaju Pinnick, a chartered flight will take the Super Eagles delegation to Freetown and the plane is scheduled to take off on Monday morning.

Per CAF regulations, the Super Eagles are expected to train at the Siaka Stevens Stadium upon their arrival in the Sierra Leone capital.

In the matchday three fixture in Benin City, the Super Eagles showed no mercy in the opening thirty minutes as Alex Iwobi netted a brace in addition to goals from Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze to give the three-time African champions a four-goal lead, but Kwame Quee pulled a goal back just before half time before second half strikes from Alhaji Kamara (2) and Mustapha Bundu earned them a draw.

Nigeria would qualify for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations if they beat Sierra Leone on Tuesday and Lesotho drop points at home to Benin.
