Man Utd's Nigeria-eligible forward provisionally cap-tied to Germany after youth team debut

Manchester United forward Noah Ajayi must file a one-time change of association with Fifa should he choose to represent Nigeria's national teams in the future, allnigeriasoccer.com reports. 

Today, Wednesday, the Red Devils starlet was named in the starting lineup as Germany made a successful start to the  first qualifying round  for the 2027 U19 European Championship, beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-1 at at Lindabrunn Sports School south of Vienna.

By making his competitive debut for Germany youth team, Ajayi became provisionally cap-tied to his country of birth.

Alexander Staff and Yll Gashi scored for Germany, while Said Nisic had earlier equalised in the 37th minute.

Born in Hamburg, Ajayi is eligible to play for Nigeria's national teams through his father. 

Sporting the number 11 on his back, the German-Nigerian attacker was replaced by Zain Biazid in the 46th minute.

Ajayi was rewarded with a maiden call-up to Germany U18s following his fine form for Manchester United U18s in recent weeks.

In his last six appearances across all competitions, the 2008-born winger has netted six goals, including a stunning strike in Manchester United's 3-2 victory over Sunderland in the FA Youth Cup quarterfinals.
