Manchester City Confirm Kelechi Iheanacho Has Been Promoted To First Team
Manchester City have confirmed that Nigeria youth international Kelechi Iheanacho has been promoted to their first team.<br /><br />If there was uncertainty surrounding the status of the Taye Academy product ahead of City<span class=\"body1\">’s season opener in the Premier League, it came to an end on Wednesday night during </span>the 2015 - 2016 launch party/Awards Ceremony.<br /><br />The Citizens announced that Iheanacho, Jason Denayer and Rony Lopes have been elevated to full time members of the first team after impressing for the Elite Development Squad.<br /><br />The Golden Ball winner at the 2013 Fifa Under 17s did not arrive the venue of the awards ceremony with Manchester City<span class=\"body1\">’s youth setup but was seen in the company of Pablo Zabaleta, Raheem Sterling and Gael Clichy alighting from the first - team coach.<br /><br />The 18 - year - old was nominated for the </span>Nissan Goal of the Season award, an accolade that was eventually picked up by Three Lionesses winger Toni Duggan.<br /><br />Kelechi Iheanacho scored two goals for the first team of Man City in pre - season.<br /><br />Photo Credit : mcfc.co.uk<br />
