Legendary Manchester United central defender Rio Ferdinand has hailed the partnership between Anglo-Nigerian starlet Bukayo saka and teenage Brazilian sensation Gabriel Martinelli.
Ferdinand cited the game against Bournemouth as an example when the two 18-year-olds combined for the opening goal scored by the Gunners.
Though lacking some defensive attributes, Saka is beginning to establish himself as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League after he was converted to a makeshift fullback and he is a player that can guarantee assists with ten already this season in all competitions.
In quotes carried by HITC making reference to a question and answer session on Ferdinand's Instagram account, the former England star said : "He [Saka] is going to have a fantastic future. If him and Martinelli keep that partnership out wide, I watched it against Bournemouth, they mesmerised me.
"The confidence out there, the way that they played in sync, was beautiful to see.
"He is going to have to fight Tierney for a position because he’s an investment they have played. Are they going to have to play him?"
Saka has played at left-back for Arsenal in his last eleven matches in the Premier League due to the injuries suffered by Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney.
