Arsenal lost their first domestic fixture in 2020 after they were thrashed 3-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, with Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden getting on the scoresheet for Pep Guardiola's team.
Despite the fit-again Kieran Tierney returning to the side, Bukayo Saka still found his way into the starting lineup but was deployed as an inverted winger on the right flank.
Just before the start of the game at the Etihad Stadium, Arsenal legend Ian Wright who was on punditry duties for Premier League Productions, noted that manager Mikel Arteta has a lot of faith in Saka and other two other talented youngsters in Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock who were surprisingly named in the starting lineup ahead of more experienced players.
"He has given them a lot of responsibility because Mikel has got a lot of faith in those players - Saka, Nketiah, Joe Willock," said Wright.
"I think Pablo Mari will probably play on the left, Shkodran Mustafi on the right of center half.
"Kieran Tierney and Saka is something I am looking forward to."
Arteta was forced to change his formation early in the second half following the dismissal of David Luiz and one of the changes saw Saka drop to the left-back position.
The Hale End Academy has clocked up 30 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners in his breakthrough season as a professional.
