Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has taken a big step on his road to
recovery ahead of the national team's upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifying
matches against Liberia and Cape Verde.
After taking a day off following the win vs Salernitana,
the Serie A table toppers resumed training on Tuesday at the SSC Napoli
Konami Training Center and the Nigeria national teamer attended the
session.
The
number 9 suffered a right calf injury in training before the meeting
with Salernitana and tests carried out on the Nigerian suggests that the
injury is not serious.
However, he is unlikely to be available for Thursday's matchday four Europa League fixture against Legia Warsaw.
The target manager Luciano Spalletti has set for Osimhen's return to action is Sunday, November 7, when the Azzurri take on Verona in the Serie A.
Osimhen
tallied 11 goals combined for club and country prior to his spell on
the sidelines with two netted in World Cup qualifying.
