NFF Publicly Court Arsenal Linked Wonderkid Ahead Of Major Announcement By USA

The Nigeria Football Federation have set the ball rolling in their bid to cap Arsenal linked teenage sensation Lateef Omidiji Jnr ahead of his country of birth United States of America and country of residence Netherlands.

In the coming days, the United States Soccer Federation will make a major announcement regarding the international future of the Feyenoord superkid, but the NFF are confident of luring him to play for Nigeria as his father has an excellent relationship with Seyi Akinwunmi, the Vice President of the Federation.

In a series of tweets, the Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that they are on the trail of Lateef Omidiji.

''Nigerian youngster, @LateefOmidijiJr is certainly one for the future. Presently with Feyenoord FC U15 Academy in the Netherlands,'' the NFF stated.

''The 13 year old (@LateefOmidijiJr) is being shadowed by a couple of countries.

''However, NFF's 1st VP and chair of Youth Committee, Seyi Akinwunmi says the NFF is on @LateefOmidijiJr's trail.''

The likes of Amobi Okugo (Portland Timbers), Gboly Ariyibi (Nottingham Forest), Matthew Olosunde (Man Utd) and Fatai Alashe (San Jose Earthquakes) have played for United States youth teams but remain eligible to represent Nigeria.
