Nigeria Targets Abraham, Iorfa Start As England U21s Suffer First Loss In 17 Months

Two players of Nigerian descent in the shape of Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham and <span>Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Dominic Iorfa were included in the starting Line-up, as England U21s suffered their first loss since June 2015 against France on Monday night.<br /><br />On nine minutes, </span>Duncan Watmore put the Young Lions 1-0 up with an outrageous chip, but the hosts leveled matters nine minutes later through Moussa Dembele.<br /><br />The third goal of the contest in Bondoufle was scored by France&rsquo;s Celtic star Dembele in the 64th minute, only for Chelsea talent Lewis Baker to equalize with a stunning free kick, and not long afterwards France netted the winner.<br /><br />The Nigeria Football Federation are known to be monitoring the performances of Abraham and Iorfa, with a view to handing them call-ups to the Super Eagles next year. <br /><br />Elsewhere, Chelsea midfielder Tariq Uwakwe and Fulham wonderkid Dennis Adeniran started for England U18s in their goalless draw versus France at the the ABAX Stadium.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br />Photo Credit : efl.com<br />
