Nigeria Waits As Wolves GK Ikeme Suffers Hip Injury Ahead Of Algeria WCQ
<span class="st">Wolverhampton Wanderers are sweating on the fitness of Nigeria goalkeeper Carl Ikeme ahead of their next competitive fixture against </span>Derby County in the Football League Championship.<br /><br />The shot-stopper had to be replaced before the start of the second half in Wolves’ 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday after picking up a hip injury when he stretched to make a save. <br /><br />Both the Molineux Stadium and Ikeme have released a statement, hoping that the injury sustained by the Nigerian is not a long-term injury.<br /><br />“Carl Ikeme had a hip injury which Rob hopes isn’t too serious. Pleased to see Andy Lonergan make a positive impact when he came on, ” Wolves said in a statement via Twitter.<br /><br />Ikeme added : “We deserved at least a point and lads all dug in.
