Kylian Mbappe played the role of a hero for France as they advanced to the knockout rounds of the 2022 FIFA World Cup holding in Qatar.

Mbappe scored a brace in Les Bleus' 2-1 win over Denmark in a Group D matchday two encounter of the 2022 FIFA World Cup played at Stadium 974 (Rass Abou Aboud) on Saturday. 

The electric performance of the Paris Saint Germain forward of Cameroonian descent has got football lovers in Nigeria talking.

Mbappe opened the scoring in the 61st minute with a right footed shot after he received the ball from Theo Hernandez.

The Danes were back on level terms seven minutes later through Andreas Christensen who nodded in from a Joachim Anderson's flick.

France got back in front through Mbappe once again in the 86th minute after he converted a cross from Antoine Griezmann.

The fleet-footed forward is regarded as one of the youngsters who will take over from legendary forwards Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo after retirement.

Several Nigerian fans were left in awe of the 24-year-old and praised him for the scintillating performance.
