Kristiansund BK kicked off their 2026 Norwegian Eliteserien season with a thrilling 3-2 victory over SK Brann at Nordmøre Stadion on Sunday, with Nigerian duo Mustapha Isah and Promise Meliga stealing the spotlight, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Meliga's performance was particularly eye-catching, having completed his move to Kristiansund BK just two days before the Brann clash.
The talented forward, a product of Beyond Limits Academy, joined on loan from parent club Vålerenga Fotball on a short-term deal until July 15, 2026.
The game burst into life just three minutes in as Isah calmly slotted home a penalty to open the scoring.
However, goals from Joachim Soltvedt and Bård Finne gave Brann a 2-1 lead by the 65th minute.
With nineteen minutes remaining, Meliga made his debut off the bench, replacing the injured Isah—a decision that proved a masterstroke by manager Amund Skiri.
The new signing struck twice in the closing minutes, first capitalising on a defensive error in the 84th minute to level the score, then netting the winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time following a free-kick from Heine Bruseth.
Meliga directly participated in three goals in eight league games in his maiden season in Norway.
