With a statement on their official website, English Premier League club Arsenal have finally confirmed that American-born striker of Nigerian descent Folarin Balogun has committed his future to the club by signing a new long-term deal.
Though the length of contract has not been disclosed by the Gunners, allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the England youth international has put pen to paper on a four-year deal that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until the end of the 2024-2025 campaign.
Balogun has been on the books of Arsenal since the age of nine, rising through the ranks before making his professional debut in a Europa League fixture versus Dundalk back in October.
Commenting on Balogun's new deal, first team manager Mikel Arteta said : "We have been extremely impressed with Flo this season.
"He has continually shown his natural ability in many training sessions with us and we have been equally impressed with his early integration into the first-team squad on matchdays.
"He has given us glimpses with the performances and of course with his two goals already for the first team.
"The hard work starts here for Flo and we are all looking forward to supporting and working with him in the years to come."
The 19-year-old Balogun has recorded six appearances for Arsenal's first team this season, scoring two goals, away at Molde and Dundalk in the group stage of the Europa League.
