Both Arsenal and their Premier League rivals Brentford have confirmed that young Nigeria-eligible fullback Daniel Oyegoke has completed his move to the Bees following the expiration of his contract with the north London club.
Oyegoke surprisingly turned down a professional contract at Arsenal before he was acquired by the newly promoted Premier League team.
Aged 18, he is departing Arsenal four years after he arrived at the Emirates Stadium outfit from another north London team, Barnet.
Originally a forward, Oyegoke was converted into a fullback during his time at the Hale End Academy.
Brentford B Head Coach Neil MacFarlane was delighted with the signing of the Anglo-Nigerian, labeling him a 'modern full back'.
"I think Daniel is a fantastic signing for the B Team. He’s been at Arsenal for a number of years, and we’ve seen him do particularly well for England recently," MacFarlane said to Brentford's official website.
"We want to keep improving the B Team every year, and a signing like Daniel can definitely help us to do that.
"Daniel is a modern full back who likes to get forward and he has the ability to create for the team. He’s a fantastic character and will be a very good addition to the group."
Oyegoke has put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Brentford with a club option of a further year.
