English Championship outfit Ipswich Town have snapped up striker James Alabi on a one - year deal, with a year option on top, the official website of <i>The Tractor Boys</i> has reported.<br /><br />The 20 - year - old, who was on the books of Stoke City during the 2014 - 15 season, has been offered a deal after impressing the coaching staff led by Mick McCarthy during trials.<br /><br />In his first words after completing the transfer, Alabi told itfc.co.uk : &ldquo;The trial has gone well. I just got my head down and showed the manager what I can do.<br /><br />&ldquo;I see this at the start of my career now.
