Major League Soccer club Portland Timbers have announced that they have extended the contract of&nbsp; Super Eagles invitee Fanendo Adi. <br /><br />Per league and club policy, the financial terms and duration of contract penned by the striker have not been disclosed.<br /><br />The former FC Copenhagen and Dynamo Kiev man has been rewarded for his imperious displays since he initially joined the Timbers in the summer of 2014.<br /><br />Last season, Fanendo Adi netted 18 goals in total in the MLS, helping Portland Timbers to win the MLS Cup title.<br /><br />The Super Eagles coaches have also taken notice of his potential, handing him a first-ever call-up for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt.<b><br /><br />Igho Kingsley</b><br /><br /><br />
